10 Years Lanvin Party

Friday night was the 10th anniversary of Alber Elbaz’s role as the designer of Lanvin, a period in which he transformed the label from a dusty whatsit to an in-the-know commodity. He threw an anniversary party in a huge Left Bank warehouse near the Seine river. Pharrell Williams came, and made a big deal out of bowing to Anna Wintour.

The fun started even before the runway show, with hors d’oeuvres – foie gras lollipops anyone? – and champagne served to arriving guests on the floor of the warehouse. A good thing too because the natives got restless- the show started more than an hour and 15 minutes after the appointed time.
The guests, the models, the celebrities all swarm for a sighting of Mr. Elbaz, who is cornered behind a velvet curtain by more than a dozen camera crews. The party goes full swing.
