Quote of the Day

If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.

Alila Villas Uluwatu/ Bali

The location is absolutely gorgeous and the views are extraordinary. Having a house there is like a dream come true. Still, it’s not easy to come up with something that looks impressive and is simple and practical in the same time. But it seems like this structure has it all figured out. It’s a very beautiful construction, with a modern but relatively simple design. Still, there are some very impressive elements, like that terrace and the outside space. But while the exterior is imposing and impressive, the interior design of this house is more quiet and simple. It’s a very chic place and it could be a great place to spend the holidays and vacations.

Rihanna is reportedly being lined-up to portray Whitney Houston in a new Hollywood biopic of the singer.
According to the Daily Mail, both the 'Talk That Talk' singer and Jennifer Hudson are under consideration to portray Houston in a new biopic.

Style Icon/ Diane Kruger

Long before she made waves in Hollywood for Troy and Inglourious Basterds, Diane Kruger stood out in the fashion world. She takes risks, she's on trend, and she always looks chic. She won the Cannes Film Festival Chopard Trophy in 2003.
Kruger is a brand ambassador for watch manufacturer Jaeger-LeCoultre. In December 2009, she was announced as the global spokesmodel for L'Oréal.
She has been in a relationship with Joshua Jackson since 2006. During an interview with magazine Glamour, she said, "Without sounding pessimistic, I learned that I don't believe in marriage. I believe in a commitment that you make in your heart. There's no paper that will make you stay."

My Favourite Poem/Bored And Sad by Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov

It's boring and sad, and there's no one around
In times of my spirit's travail…
Desires!…What use is our vain and eternal desire?..
While years pass on by - all the best years!

To love…but love whom?.. a short love is vexing,
And permanent love's just a myth.
Perhaps look within? - The past's left no trace:
All trivial, joys and distress…

What good are the passions? For sooner or later
Their sweet sickness ends when reason speaks up;
And life, if surveyed with cold-blooded regard,-
Is stupid and empty - a joke…

My Dream Places/Neist Point, Isle of Skye - Scotland

Neist Point is the most westerly point of Skye and it has some impressive steep rock faces. You can see the whole of Moonen Bay and the cliffs of Hoe Rape from it. With a bit of luck, you might even see a few sheep wandering about the Point, some of them dangerously close to the cliff edge.

The Eastern & Oriental Express

‘Trains are wonderful… to travel by train is to see nature and human beings, towns… and rivers, in fact, to see life…’Agatha Christie.
Sure, you could fly between Bangkok and Singapore in a couple of hours, but you’d miss this Agatha Christie-like journey with an Oriental twist through the heart of the Malay Peninsular.
Sister train to Europe’s Venice Simplon Orient Express, an open-air observation car allows heady aromas of the Orient to waft onboard. Accompanied by the tinkle of ivory, the Piano Bar is the social hub where tall Singapore Slings garnished with fresh fruit are de rigeur.
Upper and lower berths and en suite bathrooms complete the picture in three cabin configurations: Pullman, State and Presidential cabins.
Perhaps the most important factor in the Eastern & Oriental Express's reputation is the magnificent, breathtaking scenery through which it passes. Just a few kilometres from the equator, the train makes its way gently past landscapes as diverse as tropical forests and rice paddy fields, taking in the vibrant cultures of Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore along the way.

Titanic's Final Lunch Menu Up for Auction

A menu from the final lunch served on board the Titanic, offering egg a l'argenteuil and corned ox tongue to first class passengers, will be up for bidding March 31 by auctioneers Henry Aldridge & Son.
The menu is dated from April 14, 1912, the night Titanic sank (and in our pop culture memories, the night Rose promised to never let go). Considering that an onboard menu from April 10, 1912 sold for £27,000, it's no surprise that the final lunch menu is expected to go for more than £100,000 (roughly $158,000).

Annick Goutal Fragrances

Annick Goutal was a concert pianist and fashion model. At the request of friends, she worked with perfumers at Robertet to develop a fragrance for a face cream, and she found her calling. By 1980, she was ready to launch her own fragrance line.

My favourite is "Le Mimosa."The impression of  Le Mimosa is nevertheless much more of a soft, fuzzy peachy note that overimposes itself over a Johnson's chamomille shampoo and clean orange blossom accord, the latter dominating the heart of the composition.

Annick Goutal fragrances are for the more discerning perfume lover: If you prefer old-fashioned glamour, elegance and unforgettable style over passing trends and celebrities, then Annick Goutal perfumes are for you.
